I began studying the graceful functions of the body in 2003 when I was introduced to Stott Pilates. I quickly fell in love with anatomy, the study of movement, and the balance of strength and flexibility. I acquired the beginning, intermediate and advanced Pilates Matwork certifications in 2004 and went on to complete the beginning and intermediate Pilates Reformer certifications in 2005. My studies continued over the next two years to include training in injury, rehabilitation, prenatal education and advanced reformer.
I was introduced to Yoga in 2005, and almost immediately felt a deep connection to the practice. I fell in love with the way yoga embodies physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and well-being, and find immeasurable joy in sharing the gift of yoga with others.
I began training to teach in 2006 through the Anusara School of Yoga, and received my Anusara-Inspired Certification and 200 hr RYT recognition in 2010. I went on to receive over 300 hours of training and education through various disciplines, teachers and schools of yoga, and completed an additional 300-hour yoga teacher training certificate with Noah Maze in July, 2017.
Additionally, I co-founded the yoga studies program at Utah State University, where I currently serve as Director of Yoga Studies, teach, and continue my education toward a Master’s degree in History with a focus on Yoga Education. I consider myself a ‘forever student’ as I continue my studies and look forward to many more years of practice and education.
I consider myself very fortunate to work with some of the best teachers in the world. I am particularly grateful for the incredible training and education received from Noah Maze, Christina Sell, Desiree Rumbaugh, Adam Ballenger, John Friend, Elena Brower, and Judith Hanson Lasater. My yoga training includes Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Pre-natal, and Therapeutics.
Above all, my greatest training and education has come from my students. Every single time I teach, I learn something new and I am forever grateful for their ongoing patience, kindness, questions, courage, and desire to learn. I am inspired every day.
